Technical and Slip Resistance Tiles

Your home, your workplace, the malls and stores you visit, the gyms you frequent and spaces like your bathroom and restrooms share one thing in common.

Tiles…..

What Factors Do You Consider Prior To Tile Selection?

1.    Colour

2.    Pattern

3.    Print & Design

4.    Shape

5.    Whether its builds ambience

6.    Its balancing factor with the rest of your home / office / store.

7.    Slip Resistance

Each of these factors needs to be present in balancing proportions for your tile selection to be a perfect choice. Your safety and the beauty of a tile are equally important. However, if you had to choose either, would you choose your safety or the appeal of the tile?

Fortunately, BluePrint Ceramics offer you breathtakingly beautiful tiles with your safety in mind. Yes, it is beauty and slip resistance combined in a BluePrint Ceramics Tile.

How Important Is It For You To Consider The Slip Resistance Of A Tile?

Imagine that you’re throwing a party and you’ve been busy cleaning your home and cooking all day. In the rush to get work done quickly, you’re not too careful with your pace around the house and you slip and injure yourself.

Under Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, it is important for you to choose slip resistant tiles to avoid slips, trips, falls and the accidents and injuries that come with it.

Sometimes a little water on your kitchen floor can lead to you or another member of your family slipping and injuring themselves. The same can occur at the workplace or in a store if the slip resistance factor is not considered while choosing tiles.

If a little water can be dangerous at times; how about wet areas like swimming pools or your bathroom?

Anti-slip tiles are most important in wet areas like swimming pools and bathrooms as these areas are more prone to accidents because of the constant presence of water in and around them.

Slip Resistance Is A Bit Of Rocket Science

When your safety is in question, no compromises are made. Our tiles go through rigorous slip resistance tests to ensure that their appearance is complemented with 100% safety.

Slip Resistance of tiles is measured under:

·         Wet Conditions

·         Dry Conditions

·         Oily ramps

·         Barefoot Wet & Dry Conditions

The Pendulum Skid Resistance Test is used to test how slippery tiles are and are accordingly assigned ratings.

0 – 25: Very slippery, hence dangerous

26 – 35: Average, hence moderate chances of slipping

36 – 65: Good skid resistance, hence very low chances of slipping

66+: Excellent skid resistance, hence extremely safe

Tiles are also rated under the DIN Classification to determine its skid resistance on slopes.

Suitable for 0 - 10% slope: R9

10 – 19% Slope: R10

19 – 27% Slope: R11

27 – 35% Slope: R12

35% & Higher: R13

Under the DIN Classification for bare feet in wet areas, ratings are determined as follows:

0 – 12% Slope: A

12 – 18% Slope: B

18 – 24% Slope: C

A little care in choosing your tile can go a long way in ensuring your complete safety. BluePrint tiles combine technology with great design to give you only the best and uncompromising safety with flooring.
